Saxon Switzerland and Königstein fortress
Königstein fortress is Europe's largest mountain fortress. It is located in the centre of the Elbsandsteingebirge on the table mountain of the same name above the village of Königstein. The structure is a unique witness of European fortress architecture. For 200 years, the bastion has been among the best-known natural monuments of Germany. Enjoy the distinctive romantic and magnificent scenic view. The attractiveness of Saxon Switzerland is characterised by its table mountains and bizarre rock structures. The impressive variation of mountains, river valleys and wide plains distinguish the unique character of this region.
Marienbad
After having been founded in the 18th century and granted the official designation as a health resort in 1818, Marienbad became and still is the youngest of the Bohemian spas. Take a stroll through the spa gardens and taste from the mineral springs. If you have some time left after the short stroll, why not go shopping or check out Bohemian cuisine. This trip is often combined with a visit to Karlsbad.
Seiffen – the Christmas and toy village
This season never ends in the health resort Seiffen. See for yourself the large selection of its products. The village is more than 675 years old and is rightly called the Christmas and toy village. Apart from numerous pretty folk art shops and demonstration workshops, the open-air museum in particular with its buildings and their facilities convey a sense of the tough everyday lives of miners, toy makers, lumberjacks, raftsmen, etc.
Meissen - city of the blue swords
Join us on a visit to this 1000-year old city on the river Elbe, which is characterised by a mediaeval cityscape, precious china and the vineyards of the Elbe valley. The picturesque city on the river Elbe houses an abundance of attractions such as the Sächsische Porzellanmanufaktur (porcelain factory), the Albrechtsburg and Meißen Minster which are, undoubtedly, among the touristic highlights of this country and well-prepared for their visitors.
Dresden – capital and metropolis on the river Elbe
Hundreds of thousands of visitors come to Dresden every year, attracted by its famous buildings. Take the opportunity to see Dresden's sights: the Semper Opera, the castle and its church, Brühlsche Terrace, Albertinum and, last but not least, the newly built parliament. The main attraction at present is certainly the reconstruction of the Dresden Frauenkirche.
The castle at Dux – on the trail of Casanova
On our way to Dux we experience the Northern Bohemia landscape that has been heavily transformed by industry. Our first station is Osek monastery, one of the best-known Baroque buildings in Northern Bohemia. The visit to the castle at Dux is influenced by the spirit of Casanova. The castle shelters some personal belongings of Casanova, who lived here for many years as a librarian.
Karlsbad – a health resort of international reputation
Karlsbad is the biggest and most popular health resort of the Czech Republic. It owes its fame to 12 mineral springs and was well-known even in Goethe's time. During his stays, the famous poet enjoyed the wonderful view of the city from one of the hills surrounding Karlsbad, which today bears his name. Two other things that made Karlsbad famous are the wafers and the exquisite herbal liqueur "Becherovka".
Prague – the Moldau metropolis
A day trip to Prague can only give you a first overview. Prague means many things: music & middle ages, Kafka & Kirsch, beer & dumplings with pork ... Join us in exploring the Czech Metropolis, the old town hall, Charles Bridge, Hradčany Castle, the city centre, historic buildings, winding lanes in the old town, the splendid view from Charles Bridge and the vigilant Prague Castle.
